Studentenparadies Jena - Studieren mit Wohlfühlgarantie

Library

Jena has one of the most modern European libraries, with an inventory of almost four million items. The modern Thuringian University and State Library, lovingly called "Bibo" by the students, was completed in 2001. In the library, students can work at one of the numerous computer stations or they can use their own laptop to go online. It has user friendly hours of operation, from 9am until 10pm, and has its own cafeteria inside to provide for any necessary energy refills. Besides this, Jena also has a continually expanding digital library, and an extensive electronic journal library, which can be used for researching scholarly articles. In addition, there is a patent information center located within the College of Applied Sciences library. The patent office (and also the German and European Patent Office) answers questions and monitors patents online as well as on a CD-ROM database.
