Doubling the educational allowance for new Jena residents
The city of Jena will become even more like paradise: on April 28 th , the mayor Dr. Albrecht Schröter announced a doubling of the educational allowance for new Jena residents. As of the winter semester, students who register Jena as their primary residence should receive 60 Euros per semester, totaling 240 Euros over four semesters. Furthermore, the use of public transportation will still be covered in the student fees. The relevant city council meeting will be in May, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the proposal will be a success. We think that our "Studis" have earned it! Our motto: register your primary residence and save.
Baby changing room in the ThULB
Since March 3 rd , 2008, a baby changing room is available for students with children in the ThULB.
Since February 2008, the women's night taxi is back in service.
On the initiative of the equal opportunity commissioner, the city of Jena, and the support center "Lucie" e.V., the women's night taxi is back in service for the first time since 2005. The taxi will run from February until April and from October until December 2008.
The FSU StuRa supports KidsGym
…if your three to six-year-old children participate in the sports offer "KinderGym", then you can get 10 Euros of the course fee back from the student council.

12/4/2007 | "Jena is like paradise because…" and also "Jena can become more like paradise by…" Students were able to write their answers to these questions on green or red pieces of paper and publicly display them on a bulletin board at the University of Jena 2007 semester kick-off session. Naturally, we don't want to withhold the results of this survey from you.
