Studentenparadies Jena - Studieren mit Wohlfühlgarantie

Residing in Paradise

Jena offers housing for every taste. Whether an old building with stucco or a new building with the highest level of comfort. Outside of this, there are many flat-shares in the city, which provide the possibility to quickly and easily find accommodation.

To ensure that living also stays affordable, the student union arranges student residence halls. The residence halls provide multiple offers for students: single apartments, one and two-rooms within a flat-share, or family apartments. They are also modernly equipped with adjacent built-in kitchens, shower, bathroom, internet connection, TV and telephone connection, washing machine, dryer, and bicycle cellar. They often have a communal activity room as well.

A whole new form of living is now being initiated by Frank Wessely, a Bioinformatics student. The new project, titled "Room-For-Help " is managed by the Student Union and the University. It should help widows, families, and parents who find themselves with empty children's bedrooms bring "life back into the home."

According to the rule of thumb 1 m² of living space in exchange for one hour of work, the multifaceted talents of the University students can be made useful for the citizens in the town and region. So if your child should learn Chinese, if your hedge needs to be cut regularly, or if you simply would like to have some company:

Contract forms, information, and consultation for those interested are all available under the telephone number 03641/930560 or via email at or in the INFOtake on the campus, Ernst-Abbe-Platz 5 in Jena.
