Jena is „City of Science 2008“
In an exciting competition run by the association for the advancement of German sciences, Jena was distinguished as the “City of Science 2008”. Jena was introduced in Braunschweig by a 60-person delegation, consisting of representatives from the fields of politics, economics, and sciences. The city successfully prevailed in March with its “high carat” application, presented under the motto “Knowledge and Growth – Made in Jena”
Alongside the university’s 450-year anniversary celebration, the sciences were on display in 2008, taking the form of multiple exhibits around town.
